Another game killed

Fans of Brøndby IF are boycotting this Sunday’s game against FC Copenhagen in Parken Stadium, reports Ekstra Bladet newspaper.

The reason is that Brøndby IF has introduced a system requiring fans to provide their fingerprints when they buy their match tickets. The club’s objective is to ensure that the person buying the ticket is the same person going through the turnstiles on match day.

“We feel we’re being criminalised with this system, said Brian Halkjær, a spokesperson for the unofficial Brøndby fan group Alpha. “Brøndby is making everyone pay for the actions of a few. They should instead target those who really cause the trouble.”

Halkjær has received much support from fellow Brøndby fans, with some 900 backing the boycott.

“So far we have only sold 150 of the 1,500 tickets we have been allocated.
